How we met
It’s 2015. One early Fall morning, before school had started, Meerim is frantically searching for her AP Bio notes to no avail. Vahid, overhearing, offers her his notes. The rest is History. Or should we say Chemistry? (jk, it was Biology). Because from that day, fate would weave the lives of these two souls together forever. A simple moment that became the start of everything to come. From that day, mornings were something to look forward to. Vahid would walk Meerim to her class, and before long, they were spending more and more time together. Vahid did the school’s morning announcements, and sometimes, he would play Meerim’s favorite songs on the intercom. That Summer, Vahid also took Meerim’s senior photos. But the photos didn’t stop there.
OUR LOVE STORY

Fast forward to
What began as a friendship soon grew into something more. On a winter morning, January 19, 2017, Vahid asked Meerim to be his girlfriend at Poet’s Seat Tower in Greenfield. A fitting place, historically known for drawing poets to the mountain views. Mountains have always called to them, and it felt like the perfect beginning. That summer, after a hike (more of a drive) up Mount Washington, they shared their first “I love you.”
Since then, they’ve shared so many adventures. From coffee shop dates in France and London, to seeing the northern lights (and getting their car stuck) in Iceland. Breakfast with dolphins in the Bahamas and practicing their Spanish in Barcelona (mostly getting by thanks to Meerim). Eating their way through Italy and hiking their way through Colorado, California and Canada. Through every journey, near and far, Vahid and Meerim have built a life they love, filled with laughter, joy and adventure. Along the way, they also became proud cat parents to Miko and Enzo, whose six years of cuddles, chaos, and unconditional love have made their home feel complete.

The proposal
Then one day, on a summer trip to Switzerland - surrounded by the golden glow of the Alps, the mirrored stillness of Lake Oeschinensee, the soft mooing of cows, and a violinist Vahid had arranged to play Luminary - it happened.
Did Meerim see it coming? Yes. She’d known long before the first violin note rang out. Did she still cry a bucket of tears? Absolutely. We got engaged on August 20, 2024 and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
Now we can’t wait to begin our next chapter, celebrating this love with all of you in the “Switzerland of Asia”, Meerim’s home country, Kyrgyzstan.

REGISTRY?
We’re skipping the registry. Having our loved ones share in this chapter of our lives is the greatest gift we could ever receive. Traveling all the way to Kyrgyzstan isn’t easy, and we’re so thankful for everyone who is making the journey - and for those cheering us on from afar.
For those who still wish to give, we’ve created a fund below where you can help pay for an experience, meal or stay at our honeymoon!
